Paypal Fee Calculator
Calculate Merchant Fees and Net Payouts for Your Business
Don't let transaction fees surprise you! Our Free PayPal Fee Calculator is the essential tool for freelancers, online sellers, and small businesses. PayPal charges a percentage plus a fixed fee for every payment received, which can eat into your profits if you don't plan ahead.
Our tool provides two critical calculations in one:
-
"How much will I receive?" Enter the total amount your client sends to see the net amount that hits your balance after PayPal takes their cut.
-
"How much should I ask for?" Enter the amount you want to receive, and we will tell you exactly what to invoice your client so that you get your full payment after fees.

What is the standard PayPal fee in 2026? While rates vary by country and account type, the most common standard rate for "Goods and Services" in the US is 2.99% + $0.49 per transaction. International transactions often carry an additional 1.5% currency conversion or cross-border fee.
Can I use this for "Friends and Family" payments? "Friends and Family" payments usually have no fees if sent from a bank account or PayPal balance. This calculator is designed for Business/Merchant transactions where PayPal's protection and processing fees apply.
Does this tool account for international fees? Our calculator uses the standard domestic rate by default. If you are receiving an international payment, you should manually adjust the fee percentage to account for the extra 1.5% cross-border fee typically charged by PayPal.
Why is the "Ask For" amount higher than just adding the percentage? This is the "Math of Fees." If you want $100 and add 3%, you'd ask for $103. But PayPal takes 3% of the total ($103), leaving you with $99.91. Our tool uses the Inverse Formula to ensure you receive exactly the amount you need.
